So here's the first for the new decade:
It's sort of a fire and ice, but related to your mastery of the six traits of writing
- First, you will be posting this as a comment to this blog and you will be working with your newly selected partner for your Brainy Flix video for this year.
- Then, the ice: What are the traits that you are cool with? What's been the most helpful in mastering these?
- Then, where's the fire?! What do you need help with? Be as specific as you can about what's confusing. Include any terms or phrases that I use that are frustrating or unclear.
- Last, tell me what word you and your partner will be presenting on Brainy Flix. Remember, no duplications and the word must be from Power Plus lists 1-11.Please look carefully at the rules and format that I have posted on the LA1 website. Be sure to include all the info specified by Brainyflix.

Alexis Amian & Niki Badua
The traits that we are cool are voice and ideas. These traits have been from the start so it has been most repeated throughout the years.
Help is needed in the conventions area. We also need help in word choice.
Our word is cliche.

The "coolest" trait is Ideas. The most helpful in mastering this is the brainstorming.
The trait that needs help on is word choice and voice. Specifically, we think finding the right words to say something is quite confusing. A good, effective word that puts out what we want to say. For voice, specifically, speaking out what we want to say and making it effective.

Fire: Sentence Fluency and Word Choice.. for sentence fluency, there are no parallel structure to it and for word choice, we have a hard time picking the right and effective words.

The traits that we are cool with are ideas and organization.
Being able to read examples and brainstorming out our topic makes it easier to organize it into different sections and paragraphs and it gives us the ability to sort it and put details.

The traits we need help with is sentence fluency and word choice.

The traits that im most cool with is Ideas & Voice.
To master these traits we have worksheets that we could use to jot down our ideas & organize them. For voice it was pretty easy to master knowing to give a little spice to our write. So we usually incorporated naturally.
FIREE!
We need help most help with sentence fluency & organization, & also word choice. For sentence fluency, we learned quite a bit but it hasn't fully soaked in. Organization, it's hard to figure out where to put certain ideas & bringing the dish to the table. For word choice, we really need to know the meaning & understanding of each word.
Our word for brainyflix is "avid"

1. The traits that worked good for us was word choice and ideas. The Risky business essay project helped by coming up with topics to write about and help to persuade the audience that your side is correct.
2. Traits that didnt work well for us was sentence fluency. Sentence fluency was kind of confusing because we didnt get like the comma splicing and such.
3. The word we are using is "incognito"

Cody and i feel that the traits we are "cool" with are the ideas, voice, and organization. The most helpful things that we did to master these traits were the risky buisness essay and the other essays we did besides the impromptus.
Fire; We feel that we need help with the impromptus because they are very tricky sometimes and they often lack the details it takes to make a complete argumentative essay. Meeting deadlines is a problem for cody and myself and we dont know how we that can be helped by anyone but ourselves.

The traits that I am okay with is voice, ideas, and organization. I think what helped me the most with these traits were your commentary and lots of practice. The comments helped me a lot and the examples in class too. Going over everything helped me understand what was really asked for and what I had to do.

The traits we are cool with is ideas and word choice.
The things that has been most helpful in mastering these is the whole topics that we given to be able to write about and how we are able to support the topic in our own words and ideas.
Word choice is basically another way of expressing our thoughts and ideas as well. Its fun and challenging in a way to choose the right words to keep our writing strong and unique.

I realize that in this class we are still working on these things but we feel its challenging to put together our writing and explain it in a understanding clear way.

Marissa and Desha our new word is collaborate.
Kiara Guillermo: traits that I've been pretty well at are:organization and ideas. I've been able to process and create creative ideas in my work as well as organize it so its easy to understand. Sentence fluency and word choice is not my forte. I still need help with putting the right words to fit what i need to say. Picking the vocab thats right and just as impacted as a general word is what I mean.

FIRE & ICE:
Kaimi: The traits I am most "cool" with is voice, sentence fluency, and word choice. The thing that helped me with these traits would be that I am a very expressive person and I find it easy to translate my thoughts onto a piece of paper. However , I have trouble with ideas because sometimes I may draw a blank. I over think some ideas and it confuses me.
Kelvin:My traits that I am cool with is voice and word choice. For me voice is easy because in an argument or paper your can express yourself deeply on the topic given. Also word choice helps out with my voice. The trait that I have trouble with is sentence fluency cause in my essays I don't read my essay correctly.

We are "cool" with ideas and organization. When we had to organize our arguments for debates.
"FIRE" Sentence fluency is kind of hard. We dont really understand the concept of the parallel thing. And the different structures.
